Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer recap

It’s been several years since Eddie Brock became Venom and in the second trailer for Let There Be Carnage, it’s clear that the duo have entered the ‘odd couple’ stage of their relationship as they do their best to learn to live with one another and their respective quirks.

However, the film’s plot appears to be kicked into gear when Eddie Brock is invited to interview the sinister serial killer Cletus Kasady, who feels that he and Brock have a connection of some kind.

Their interview is cut short when Kasady bites Eddie and notes that what he tasted was not human blood.

The trailer then transitions to Kasady as he is about to be executed but during the process, he begins to transform into the titular villain, Carnage, and we see the red menace wreak havoc.

In a brief confrontation, we see that Venom is too scared to fight Carnage and leaves Eddie to face the fearsome symbiote alone until Eddie promises that Venom can eat anyone he wants to in return.

And finally, the trailer ends with Eddie meeting with his ex-fiancée, Anne Weying, who is now engaged to another man. While Eddie tries to be civil about it, Venom does not.

Is Carnage stronger than Venom?

  • In terms of brute strength, yes, Carnage is stronger than Venom.

This is because Carnage is the spawn of Venom and each new evolution is stronger than the last.

On top of that, Carnage’s choice of host, Cletus Kasady, makes for a deadly blend as Carnage and Kasady play on each other’s killer cravings and aren’t afraid of a murderous rampage or two.

In the case of Venom, meanwhile, his murderous tendencies are held back and restrained by his host Eddie Brock.

However, while Carnage may technically be stronger, Venom’s time on Earth has allowed him to become more intelligent and experienced than other members of the symbiote species and as such, he and Eddie Brock are able to out-smart the likes of Carnage in battle.

In the Marvel Comics, there is even an arc where Spider-Man comes to Venom for help as he can’t defeat Carnage alone.
