The artist with the most Grammy nominations, Lil Wayne, took home four awards, most notably best rap album for ‘Tha Carter III’, but also best rap song for ‘Lollipop’, best rap solo performance for ‘A Milli’ and his verse on ‘Swagga Like Us’ scored him best rap performance by a group. Radiohead won the Grammy for Alternative Music Album for ‘In Rainbows’ at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles last night (February 8). They also performed ’15 Step’, a song from the album, at the ceremony, accompanied by a marching band. Radiohead were introduced onstage by actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who called them “utterly brilliant”.

Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant Plant took home five Grammys for his collaboration with bluegrass star Alison Krauss, including best album for ‘Raising Sand’. Plant told the crowd: “In the old days we would have called this selling out. But it’s a good way to spend a Sunday.”

Coldplay picked up three Grammys last night (February 8), for best song (‘Viva La Vida’), best rock performance (for the same song), and best album (‘Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends’). “We’ve never had so many Grammys in our life,” said Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin.
“We feel so grateful to be here. I’m going to tear up.”

Justin Timberlake and Al Green perform live at the Grammys in LA (February 8). They were emergency stand-ins for Rihanna and Chris Brown, who pulled out of the show after the latter was questioned by police for allegedly assaulting a woman in a car.

The singer pulled out after Los Angeles police announced her partner, R&B star Chris Brown, was being investigated for allegedly attacking a woman in a car on Saturday night.
