They went against the accepted conventional wisdom of the time and spoke honestly to try and help guide their respective communities to the right path.. Often their advances were rejected and the Prophets were ostracized and ridiculed for their beliefs
Their sacrifice and suffering was not done in vain, it was so that you and me be guided and so that we would be saved in the afterlife.. In Surah Imran, Allah’s says to Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) in ayat 184:
We should be thankful to all of Allah’s Prophets and send our salutations their way. Doing so is among the most virtuous acts and inshallah our status will be elevated as a result.
In their daily prayers, all Muslims recite salawat by seeking blessings on Prophet Muhammad. The Arabic word salawat is the plural of salat, meaning “prayer.” Based on guidance in the Holy Qur’an, various forms of salawat have evolved for Muslims to seek Divine blessings on the Prophet
Based on sayings attributed to the Prophet, it is common for many Muslims, including Shia and Sunnis, to recite forms of salawat that also include blessings on the Prophet’s family.. The Holy Qur’an calls on believers to seek blessings on the Prophet in Surah 33, Ayah 56:
When this verse was revealed, one hadith records that the Prophet’s companions asked him how they should recite the salawat. “Say: ‘O Allah, send Your blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad in the same way as You sent Your blessings on Ibrahim (Abraham) and the family of Ibrahim’ (Allahumma salli ala Muhammad wa-aali Muhammad kama sallayta ala Ibrahim wa-aali Ibrahim).”
Allahumma salli wa sallim wa baarik `ala Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadin shajarati ’l-asli ’n-nooraaniyyati wa lam`atil qabdati ’r-rahmaaniyyati wa afdali ‘l-khaleeqati ’l-insaaniyyati wa ashrafi ’s-soorati ’l-jismaaniyyati wa m`adini ’l-asraari ‘r-rabbaniyyati wa khazaaini ’l-`uloomi ’l-istifaaiyyati, saahibi ’l-qabdati ’l-asliyya wa ’l-bahjati ’s-saniyya wa ’r-rutbati ’l-`aliyya, man indarajati ’n-nabiyyoona tahta liwaa’ihi, fahum minhu wa ilayhi, wa salli wa sallim wa baarik `alayhi wa `ala aalihi wa sahbihi `adada maa khalaqta wa razaqta wa amatta wa ahyayta ilaa yawmi tab`athu man afnayta wa sallim tasleeman katheera wa ‘l-hamdulillahi rabbi ‘l-`alameen.. When Muhammad al-Talmaysani completed Dala’il al-Khayrat 100,000 times, he saw the Prophet in a dream, saying, “O Muhammad al-Talmaysani! If you read the Salat an-Nuraniyya of Ahmad al-Badawi, it will be as if you have completed Dala’il al-Khayrat 800,000 times!”
Bless, greet and sanctify him and his Family and Companions, to the number of all that You have ever created, sustained, caused to die, and caused to live again, to the Day You resurrect those You reduced to dust, and greet him with an abundant and endless greeting. Glory and praise belong to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!
Scholars have said if you recite this once, it is as if you recited Dala`il al-Khayrat 600,000 times! Another says if you recite salawaat on the number of human beings from the time of Sayyidina Adam (a) until Judgment Day, that is the value of Salaat al-Faatih!. O Allah, bless our Master Muhammad, who opened what was closed and sealed what was before
Quran and Salwaat Surah 33 (Al‑Ahzaab), Ayah 56 sends blessings to the Prophet (pbuh). Allah sends His blessings “salawaat”صلوات on the Prophet (pbuh), and the angels implore Allah to send His blessings on him [the Prophet]
The Muslims asked the Prophet (pbuh): “How are we to seek blessings on you?” The Prophet (pbuh) answered, “Say: ‘O Allah, send blessings on Muhammad and upon Aali Muhammad,” thus he included Ahlul Bayt within the Salawaat for him.. 3, Page 127, quotes Muhammad (pbuh) prohibiting to say an incomplete Salawaat
meaning always to include Aali Muhammad with the Salawaat.. Ibn Hajar, (Al‑Sawaa’iq, Page 88) quotes the well‑known poem composed by Al‑Shafi’i (head of Shafi’i Madh’hab), and so does Sayooti, in his interpretation of Ayah of Tat’heer, as follows:Roughly translated Al‑Shafi’i says: Oh loving you Ahlul Bayt is such , That it is a duty the Quran had established , Suffice it that so privileged your distinction is , That Salat becomes invalid if Salawaat is not invoked for you.
Sahih al-Bukhari » Prophetic Commentary on the Qur’an (Tafseer of the Prophet (pbuh)) – كتاب التفسير. It was said, “O Allah’s Apostle! We know how to greet you, but how to invoke Allah for you?” The Prophet said, “Say: Allahumma salli ala Muhammadin wa’ala `Ali Muhammaddin, kama sallaita ‘ala all Ibrahim, innaka Hamidun Majid.”
Ka`b bin ‘Ujra met me and said, “Shall I give you a present? Once the Prophet came to us and we said, ‘O Allah’s Apostle ! We know how to greet you; but how to send ‘Salat’ upon you? He said, ‘Say: Allahumma Salli ala Muhammadin wa ‘ala `Ali Muhammadin, kama sal-laita ‘ala all Ibrahima innaka Hamidun Majid. Allahumma barik ‘ala Muhammadin wa ‘ala all Muhammadin, kama barakta ‘ala all Ibrahima, innaka Hamidun Majid.”

Sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ is one of the greatest acts of worship encouraged in Islam, and it is one of the most beneficial supplications for a person in this world and the hereafter, and it is one of the requirements of loving, venerating and respecting the Prophet ﷺ and giving him his rights. Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
O you who believe! Send your Salât on (ask Allah to bless him), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islamic way of greeting (salutation i.e. The Prophet ﷺ also urged us to do that and explained that it brings a multiple reward and that it is a means of attaining forgiveness of sins and having one’s needs met
The virtue of sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ does not benefit the Prophet ﷺ only; rather it also benefits the one who sends blessings on him. The virtue mentioned in the hadiths quoted above and in other hadiths benefits the one who sends blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ.
