they will already have checked that the credit card is valid, so chances of the payment being rejected at the time of release will be lower or something like that? Sorry if these are stupid questions! It’s my first time considering pre-ordering a Kindle ebook

Pre-orders are early purchases of your book that will be fulfilled on publication day.. Historically, pre-orders have been viewed as a predictor of a book’s success by retailers
This is in part why marketing campaigns typically kick off months before publication day—because early buzz for a book can help alter its trajectory for the better!. How do pre-orders affect release day sales–and bestseller lists?
Pre-orders through booksellers and traditional retailers can often increase your chances of hitting a bestseller list, as these numbers count toward your first week’s sales.. However, on Amazon, pre-orders are recorded the day of purchase, rather than on release day
Traditional publishers commonly sell books before they are published, allowing fans to pre-order the book. It’s a beneficial marketing strategy for several reasons
Pre-sales can also help generate a buzz about a book’s upcoming release. Plus, big pre-sale numbers can influence a book’s discoverability on retailers’ websites and can even send a book to the top of a bestseller list once it’s released.
Once you know how to set up a book for pre-order, you can benefit from the pre-sale marketing boost for your self-published eBook or print book.. A book that I want to read on my Kindle will be released soon. I’m looking forward to the impending release of The Wise Man’s Fear enough that I’m probably willing to make an exception to the “never spend more than $10 for an e-book” rule (which I usually follow)
