I’ve noticed recently that my car doesn’t have a nice smell to it and obviously the solution to this is to buy car air fresheners, but I have a sensitivity to strong scents and I don’t want to give myself a headache just to make my car smell nice. (I can’t even walk into bath and body works if that helps anyone) Is there an alternative to this?

I don’t have the fanciest car and it is a few years old now. I am quite a clean freak and don’t smoke so my car has never been housing funky smells
I have been using air fresheners for as long as I can remember and it did its job, but it never smelled like a “fresh car”. I am not talking about the new car smell cuz that’s just plastic fumes but I’ve been in cars older than mine that smells so good

As a passenger, I’ve gotten in Ubers that smell brand new, almost like they’ve been detailed extensively on the regular. Is that what you guys are doing? If not, what products do you use??!! I can never seem to replicate that clean, new car smell.

My car does not smell bad or have any funky odors (pets) but I’d like a subtle pleasant scent. I wanted to look beyond the classic air freshener trees or “wad of scented stuff in a can”

I’m trying to go for the wood, pine, and musk smell for my room and car. I looked at some car fresheners, but most of them look really cheap

I’m not looking for suggestions on the fabled “new car smell,” but more like products that you use to restore that neutral yet clean smell that doesn’t smell like you’re using much of anything.. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast.

Was wondering what air freshener or perfume/scents you guys use? I tried almost everything they sell at Walmart but it all seems to be short lived or total crap. The fabreze air vent scents only work if your heat is on, when the AC is on I barley notice them.

I have washed, polished, sealed my paint and vaccuumed, scrubbed and cleaned the interior. How do you guys recommend getting back that new car smell (obviously through a simulated fragrance)? I saw Adam’s has pumpkin spice interior cleaner of all things, but was wondering if there was a similar recommended product to give me that nice, clean new car smell.
Edit 2: I ran the ozone generator Sunday for 30 minutes with the AC on recirculate. Drove for about 15 minutes with the windows down/ AC running to try to clear it out and parked with the windows cracked for about an hour

I have a spare Subaru wagon that I hope to sell soon. What I didn’t know is that my wife threw her wet camping gear in it to make room in her truck
Open the door and get punched in the face by the stank of wet musty camping gear. Now that its out the smell still lingers and I can’t sell it smelling like this

You know how new cars have that fresh smell to it that smells like plastic, rubber and glue (but the good kind of smell).. They obviously must have used something to make the car smell like that since it was older, and now after a few months of owning it, it no longer smells like that.
Is there an air freshener I can use to recreate that smell?

I know the materials are off gassing and that will take some time, but is there any way to speed up this process?. I’m thinking about running a heater in the car for a week or two, or maybe getting it steam cleaned

I discovered the vanilla jelly belly air freshener when i used to do detailing and got me and my dad hooked (we are obsessed with vanilla), but it has been out of stock everywhere near me for the longest time! Yankee candle one was really good too but more expensive
